The government and school districts at least in the US are doing little to nothing to help spot this widespread issue. So it is up to us as parents and community leaders to pave the way for future generations to live healthier and more balanced lives. Children should not be dealing with diabetes or other weight related issues but sadly children do not have a choice of what is fed to them. They will eat what is in front of them and what their caretaker provides, therefore it is one of the most important responsibilities we have as parents and caretakers to teach them not only healthy eating habits but healthy lifestyle habits as well.
